Now here's a frizzy bad hair day if I've ever seen one!! But it doesn't look so bad with a headband on, right?!
Remember how I said "however you position your hair when its wet, is how it's going to dry"? This is so important if you ever want to 'save' your hair after a yoga class or workout, a humid day, a sweaty run, etc! If you put your hair in a pony tail or bun when it's still slightly wet ,pre-yoga, you'll 'set' your hair that way and you won't be able to take it down and revive it when you go back out into the world!
That's why I always suggest styling it well initially, whether that means a good blow-out or rake and shake curly style. Either way, you can go for a few days with a little touch up of dry shampoo, curl refresh spray, or a good tousle! That being said, we can't cramp out style by avoiding life! (working out, going to the beach, etc. which can contribute to bad hair days!).
So what do you do when your hair just isn't looking primo you ask?! Wear headbands!!!
Headbands are my go-to 'bad hair day' rescue! If you like to channel your inner Bo-Ho like I do, wear them like a lil hippie! Or, you can dress up a pony or bun by wearing it around your head traditionally!
People always ask me where I get my headbands. So, here ya go: Free People, Anthropologie or the Ouidad Salon in Santa Monica (they sell a local designer's headbands there and they're dreamy!).
Another little tip ~ when working out, put your hair in a loose bun and headband around the hairline. By putting it in a loose bun, you keep your hair 'contained' so that it's not out in the humid sweat environment that the pony tail collapses in. By keeping a wide headband around your hairline, you keep the sweat at bay, and cover most of those little fine hairs that will become frizzy or flat. I buy my workout headbands at Lululemon or REI or yoga fests!;)
Have fun rockin' those Headbands!
