If you read my posts, I'm sure you can tell that I believe yoga helps everything! Yoga is my anchor to self care, wellbeing and gratitude. I am a certified Naam Yoga teacher and student of all types of yoga. Find your flavor here.
While it can be daunting to start yoga as a newbie, or whether you're having a hard time working it into your schedule, nowadays yoga is readily available.
For the past few years I've only been getting to a group class regularly once or twice a week. It would be ideal if I could get there 4 times a week, but I can't fill my schedule up too much in order to stay sane. What's the use in rushing to get to yoga just to stress yourself to de-stress?!
Now, I've started doing my own practice at home and can shorten it to 20/30 minutes if that's all the time I have in the morning or after work. A little bit is better than nothing!
I'm considering putting together a video series of my Naam Yoga practices, but until then, I wanted to share with you what I use to practice at home.
This Kundalini Yoga DVD by Ana Brett and Ravi Singh was the gateway into my yoga practice back in 2008, and it's back in my regular weekly routine! It feels so ancient practicing to an old school DVD but it works wonders! The best thing about it is that it can be customized to your time frame.
Kundalini, just like Naam, transforms your thoughts and feelings through the energetic realm to help you release anxiety and tap into your limitless creative potential!
There are 4 different exercises here that I rotate on my custom 'matrix'. I always open with tuning in, breath work, then into the exercise of choice, then followed by rest, meditation, and closing prayer. As long as you have a DVD spot to pop into your laptop/computer, you can practice in your pjs like me!
The other moving meditation that takes all of 15 minutes that I rotate in my week is The Blessing Naam Dance of Light. Be sure to download the mantra sheet so you can chant along. This purifies your electromagnetic field, helping you feel clear, grounded, happy and healthy! Don't be shy, just do Naam!
And if you're ready for more, I would suggest becoming a member of Naam Yoga's Complete Approach to Wellness or YogaGlo, where you can take all different types of yoga styles, including Kundalini by one of my fave teacher's, Kia Miller!
Make yoga part of your morning ritual: Hot water with lemon / breakfast / yoga /your amazing day! Receive the blessings!
If you'd like to set up a private/small group class with me, please let me know.
