This New Year's Eve I went to the beach for some quiet reflection and contemplation of the past year, and the New Year ahead. It was 8 degrees out, but I was in heaven thinking about all I'm grateful for and what I'd like to feel like in the new year!
Walking on the beach is the best way for me to 'dust off my aura' and tap into my heart center. The beach is filled with sunlight fluid, that's why we feel so good there!
With this new year comes a clean slate, right?! What a gift to be able to begin anew each and everyday, each and every year! Did you set some resolutions?
While I'm not one to set goals, per se, I do love to set intentions of how I want to FEEL! That's why I was so excited to stumble upon Danielle Laporte's book called, 'The Desire Map'. In it, she teaches about the power of understanding your Core Desired Feelings.
These feelings are at the root of everything we do because it's the intention of how we want to feel, rather than the overwhelming lists of goals we want to achieve.
Inevitably, you'll reach those goals by letting your feelings guide you, rather than coming up against that scary list of resolutions, but it's a much more enjoyable process!
This year I want to feel purposeful, connected and present.
With each decision I make, I can ask myself whether that's aligned, and sure enough I'll get closer and closer to becoming the person I want to be.
Make a list.
One of the best ways to tap into your highest self, is by making a gratitude list. Not a to-do list, but a list of all the things in your life you're grateful for.
As you look at that list, you can ask yourself, 'why am I grateful for that? how does it make me feel?'
And bingo - you've got your true feelings, aka values that govern your unique life.
I discovered my 5 spiritual values while working with a spiritual life coach and I keep them in my wallet as a reminder to stay true to those everyday.
Once you discover your feelings/values, you may want to put them on your altar where you pray/meditate, or in your wallet like me, or maybe on a vision board.
Just stay true to them.
May you be the best version of yourself everyday!
