The Healing Benefits of Chanting

Have you ever chanted in a yoga class before? Do you feel awkward or silly at the mere thought of it? I totally understand! It is a strange feeling when you're new to it, but once you start, you'll love it, I promise!

Chanting a mantra has so many  healing qualities to it. When we chant, we are literally changing our energetic field, raising our vibration to love and awareness so that we can be at the right place at the right time. Mantra means "mind projection". A mantra is a potent form of advanced prayer. By repeating the prayer over and over again, we are stimulating 84 different acupressure points that lie within the mouth. As the tongue hits the roof of the mouth, it activates the pineal and pituitary glands so that your crown chakra opens wide to the heavens.

Chanting a mantra takes you to a meditative state quickly and efficiently. It's like dialing a direct line to the heavens for whatever it is that you're looking to achieve. Depending on what it is you're trying to manifest in your life, you can choose that specific mantra and chant every day for 40 days for at least 11 minutes a day. It takes 40 days to transform and raise your energetic frequency.

Because everything starts in the Divine plane and trickles down through the astral world, and eventually into our physical world, when we vibrate using mantra, we are replanting seeds in the Divine plane. The mind represents the Divine plane, and so our subconscious thought patterns are at the very root of all that we're experiencing in life. Change your thoughts, change your world. Reprogram those thoughts with mantra.

Sound therapy is one of the best self healing modalities that I use in my daily life. Come experience these amazing effects with me as I teach a New to Naam Yoga Workshop at Evoke Yoga in Hyannis. Click here for more information. If you can't make it, I also offer private yoga classes.

Hope to see you there! In the meantime, download these mantras and chant along with them anytime for deep healing, and check out my other meditation tips here. :)
